Parking

The University offers parking for a fee at its several public facilities. Those most convenient to the Lab are lot #34 or garage #37 at 34th and Chestnut Streets, garage #30 at 38th and Walnut Streets, garage #26 at 3201 Walnut Street, and garage #40 at 40th and Walnut Streets. Allow 10-20 minutes for walking to the Lab from these parking lots.

Street parking is permitted, but tends to be tight. Metered parking is available on most streets through the University, including those closest to the Lab: Walnut, Chestnut, 33rd, and 34th (north of Walnut). Meters require a quarter for each quarter hour of parking. Most metered parking is limited to two or three hours until evening. Regulations vary along a block side and by day and time. Be sure to check the closest green or red parking signs for details. Generally, green signs permit parking, and red signs prohibit parking. Parking is prohibited on Chestnut Street during morning rush hour, 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM(?). Parking is prohibited on Walnut Street during eveing rush hour, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Non-metered parking is available on Pine, Spruce, and Locust Streets starting west of 40th Street. Allow 20-30 minutes to walk to the Lab.
