GRASP Seminar Series: Fall 2006December 1, 11:00 a.m., Wu & Chen Auditorium Eric
Feron Abstract:
Aerial Robotics constitutes one of the most exciting areas of theoretical
and experimental investigations for control experts interested in aerospace
applications. Recent news developments have shown the usefulness of
such systems in various applications ranging from agriculture to security
management. They have also shown how critical many nations believe such
systems are for their accelerated access to airspace management. This
presentation will focus on these important subproblems: The seminar will draw from the presenter's own research, as well as related research efforts throughout the world. Biography: Eric Feron is the Dutton/Ducoffe Professor of Aerospace Software Engineering at Georgia Tech. He received his Ph.D. (Aerospace) from Stanford University in 1994. His research interests span the applications of Control and Optimization theories to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Air Transportation and High Confidence software systems, with corresponding books, research papers and patents.
