GRASP Student Seminar Series: Spring 2006

February 1, 5:00 PM, 307 Levine Hall

Marilina De Gennaro

"Preserving Connectivity of a Multi-agent System"

Abstract: The connectivity of a multi agent system is an important assumption for a lot of control strategies for flocking, formation keeping, and generally for achieving the desired goal. I will present an algorithm for connectivity preserving, in a complete decentralized framework. Since the connectivity property of the system is held by the second smallest eigenvalue of the Laplacian matrix, the proposed algorithm is an optimization algorithm that tries to maximize this eigenvalue. Simulation results will be shown to test the algorithm.

Biography: Marilina is a PhD student in Automatic Control at the Università del Sannio, Benevento, Italy. She is currently a visiting scholar in the GRASP Lab. Her research interests include analysis and control of multi-agent systems, and aumomotive control.
