I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the GRASP Lab, University of Pennsylvania. My mentor is George J. Pappas, who is also the director of the lab. You can read more on my professional background in this page. My resume can be found here.

Education

B.Eng (cum laude) - Oct 1998 Electrical Engineering Department, Institut Teknologi Bandung. Thesis : Visual based control of a robotic arm (written in Indonesian)
Supervisor : Dr. Bambang Riyanto.

MSc in Applied Mathematics (with distinction) - Aug 2001 Dept. Applied Mathematics, University of Twente.
Thesis : Evolution of the modal densities of a class of stochastic hybrid systems.
The final project was conducted at the Netherlands National Aerospace Lab (NLR), Amsterdam.
Supervisors : Prof. Arjan van der Schaft, Dr. Henk Blom (NLR), Ir. Bert Bakker (NLR).

PhD in Applied Mathematics - Feb 2005 Dept. Applied Mathematics, University of Twente
Thesis :
On interconnection and equivalence of continuous and discrete systems: a behavioral perspective.
Supervisor : Prof. Arjan van der Schaft.

Employment

Jun '05 -

Postdoctoral researcher at the Dept. Electrical and Systems Engineering, University of Pennsylvania.

My duties include conducting research and writing publications in the area of systems biology, mathematical models in systems biology, control of biological systems, hybrid systems, reduction of complex systems, verification and robust testing of hybrid systems.

Dec '00 - Mar '05 Doctoral student at the Dept. Applied Mathematics, University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands.

Dec '00 - Jun '01

Student researcher at the Air traffic management section, National Aerospace Lab (NLR), Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

I was engaged in research on analysis of density functions of stochastic hybrid systems. The result of the research was reported as my MSc thesis.

Jun '00 - Aug '00

Summer intern at the Acoustic Dept, Swiss Federal Lab for Materials Science and Technology, Dubendorf, Switzerland.

I worked on a joint project between Automatic Control Lab. of ETH Zurich and Acoustic Dept. of EMPA Dubendorf. The project was about the control of sound transmission through a double panel system. I was involved in the modeling and model validation of the plant.

Dec '98 - Jul '99

Research assistant at the Control Systems Lab, Dept. Electrical Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia.

I was engaged in research on system identification for active noise control. The approach was based on using artificial neural network for identifying nonlinear dynamical systems.

Sep '97 - Dec '97

Student researcher at the Signals and Systems Lab, Dept. Electrical Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia.

I was engaged in research for developing a DSP based system that can alter the timbre of human voice.
