Collaborative Swimming using Modboats

Collaborative Swimming using Modboats

In this project, we are demonstrating that underactuated single-motor swimmers (Modboats) can collaborate to overcome their individual limits and swim together as a single unit. This enables our inexpensive modules to form mobile landing platforms for drones, bridges for land vehicles, or mobile aquatic manipulators. Our research focuses on creating strategies for distributing forces among individual modules while avoiding internal collisions caused by the mechanism for undocking individual modules.
