This summer we’ve had 36 eager high-school students participating in
the SAAST Robotics program, and Thursday, July 26th at 6:00 p.m. they will
take to the Wu & Chen stage to show off the amazing things that
they’ve managed to accomplish in just three weeks! The theme for this
year’s competition is the Robolympics, complete with three events,
including IR-guided archery, a curvy line-follower, and a long jump
(for further details, see http://medesign.seas.upenn.edu/index.php/Courses/SAAST12-Project).
All of the autonomous robotic solutions have been designed and built
by the students, including SolidWorks, laser cutting, circuit design,
programming in C for the maevarm microcontroller, and much more. They
have accomplished so much in such a short period of time, and I’m sure
that they would appreciate your support tomorrow evening!
