Xuanyou (Zed) Liu is an incoming Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Northwestern University, where he will be joining the SPICE Lab under the supervision of Prof. Karan Ahuja. He is currently completing his M.S.E. in Robotics at the University of Pennsylvania, affiliated with the GRASP Lab and advised by Prof. Michelle Johnson.

Xuanyou’s research interests lie at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI), wearable haptics, and tangible user interfaces. He is particularly passionate about enhancing the fidelity and expressiveness of tactile technologies to deepen our understanding of touch in interactive systems. His work also explores applied machine learning, human-centered design, and—on the creative side—blues improvisation.
