Kind of like Iron Man: Imagine an exoskeleton that gave the wearer an extra forty pounds of bicep strength. That’s what the Titan Arm, which Elizabeth Beattie designed, can do. But now she’s working small, creating tiny robots propelled by organisms like E. coli that can sense toxins, chemicals, or light, perhaps to diagnose disease or deliver drugs.
