Daniel Miller-Uueda

Dan is the Associate Director for Education and Outreach at the GRASP Laboratory, University of Pennsylvania. He conducts research in the fields of human learning and future of work while supporting STEM education in the Greater Philadelphia region. He has his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Education from Pace University, taught grades 8-12 math, physics, and engineering for 11 years in NYC and Philadelphia, and ran a large FIRST robotics team in Philadelphia for 6 years. Miller-Uueda recently completed a three-year NSF Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) program where he worked with 26 middle school math and science teachers from the School District of Philadelphia in the field of robotics. Miller-Uueda is the recipient of numerous education awards, including Geekadelphia’s Geek of the Year Award for his work developing robotics programs in Philadelphia. He is also currently working on his doctorate at the Graduate School of Education at Penn in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership.
